Naturalist Convention Wed. 6/15 - You're Invited!

Hello Apollo Families -

Team Apollo would like to invite you to our final Learner Celebration of the 2010-2011 school year. Time flies! We encourage you to attend on Wednesday, June 15th from 8am-10am in Cafeteria B where our students will showcase their work on the Naturalist Unit. Students have worked hard to explore their relationships with nature from an intrapersonal, interpersonal, and extrapersonal perspective. They will share artwork, written work, and the findings of self-designed experiments. Please join us as we recognize the hard work, abilities, and creativity of these Apolloites!

Sincerely,

The Teachers of Team Apollo

Science NECAP

On Weds (5/18) and Thurs (5/19) of this week, 8th grade students on our team will take a NECAP assessment in science. The NECAP assessment tests students' general science knowledge and ability to conduct a science investigation. It is recommended that students get plenty of sleep and eat breakfast on those days to best prepare them for the exam. If you have any questions, please contact me.

5/12 & 5/13 Science

In preparation for the 8th grade science NECAP exam next week, 7th and 8th grade students took the district assessment "Rainy Day Morning" on Thursday and Friday. The "Rainy Day Morning" assessment tests students ability to design and conduct an experiment, skills we've been working on in science throughout the whole year. I hope to score the assessments and return them before the NECAP next week to give students feedback on their inquiry skills and to improve test scores in this domain. Please contact me if you have any questions.
