Student Conferences Announced

Team Apollo students will host student led conferences on the evenings of Wednesday March 16 and Thursday March 17. Two sessions will be offered each night: one at 5:30 and one at 6:30. Please plan to attend one of these sessions. More information will follow with opportunity to sign up for specific sessions. We look forward to seeing you.

Please note that Team Apollo will NOT hold conferences on March 1, as published in the district calendar. If you wish to meet with Apollo teachers prior to March 16 or 17, do not hesitate to contact us.

Pizza Orders Arrive Thursday!

All of the products sold during the Little Caesar's Pizza Kit fundraiser will be available for pickup this Thursday from 4:30-5:30pm in the cafeteria. Please arrange to have someone pick up the orders that your child sold during that time.

UVM Field Trip 2.10

In order to get students thinking about some of the post secondary options available to them, Team Apollo will visit the University of Vermont campus on Thursday February 8. Students will explore various aspects of college life.

2.8 Maths

7th Grade
Students continue to practice adding positive and negative numbers in Problem 1.4. Be sure to complete all of question A before Wednesday.

8th Grade
Students were returned two assessments today: Thinking with Mathematical Models Unit Test and Looking For Pythagoras Check Up 2. Corrections and parent signature for the Pythagoras quiz are due Wednesday.

2/7 Science

Students should write a detailed procedure outlining the major steps of today's "Water Thermometer" lab. Your procedure should also include a diagram that illustrates the experimental set-up. This assignment is due at the beginning of class tomorrow!

If you haven't finished the Matter Unit Glossary with the 17 vocabulary words, please do so tonight.

2.4 Maths

7th Grade
Students continue to develop their number sense for adding negative numbers in Problem 1.3. Be sure to complete the following practice before Monday: 1ACE #20-29 (write a number sentence for each).

8th Grade
Students took a quiz to assess their mastery of the Pythagorean Theorem.

2/4 Science

Students should complete their glossary using the 17 chosen vocabulary words over the weekend. This assignment is due 2/7 at the beginning of class.

Also, I've been conferencing with students in all the classes and have seen most of them over the past 2 days. We've developed targeted science goals that will push their learning forward in this class. Please ask your son or daughter about their goals and how you can best support them in meeting their goals. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

2/3 Science

1. Students should show their density test to a parent or guardian and have them sign off on it. Bring back to class and hand in. Due ASAP!
2. 7th and 8th grade students need to complete 2 more vocabulary terms for their glossary as homework tonight.
3. I am conferencing with all students around goal-setting in science. We are using our Q2 HOM reflections and their current grades as a starting point for setting these science goals. Please ask your son or daughter about them and how you can best support them in achieving them. As always, if you have any questions, please contact me to discuss.
