7th Grade

8th Grade
Students will take a quiz on Thursday. Be sure to complete the practice worksheet and study exponential relationships and exponential operations. Spend some time on khanacademy.org !

5.9 Maths

7th Grade
Students continue practicing their skills with tables, graphs and equations of linear relationships. We started the following practice in class, and it should be completed before Tuesday: 4ACE #2-12, 43, 44.

8th Grade
Students are learning about growth factors, growth rates and compound growth in their study of exponential relationships in Problem 3.2. The following practice is assigned:
R2 - 3ACE #1, 2, 4
R3 - 3ACE #1, 2, 8

7th Grade
In Problem 1.2, students are exploring linear relationships in tables, graphs and equations. Complete all of question A before next class.

8th Grade
Students completed a quiz on reflection, rotation and translation transformations on a coordinate grid.

7th grade
Students continued their investigation, determining walking rates and writing linear equations.
For practice, 1ACE #'s 1 and 2.
*Tests are to be signed and brought back Monday, April 4th.

8th grade
Today, students reviewed material from investigations 2 and 5 to prepare for the upcoming quiz (Monday, April 4th).

7th Grade
Quiz today: adding positive and negative numbers.

8th Grade
Students will be writing a reflection to summarize what they learned in Investigation 1. Students will also begin working on investigation 2.1, line reflections. Quiz tomorrow on reflection, rotation, and translation symmetry!

3/8 Math

Today all students worked on compiling their portfolios for the upcoming Student-Led Conferences.

8th graders - Don't forget to have your tests signed and brought in tomorrow!

8th Grade
Students were returned two assessments today: Thinking with Mathematical Models Unit Test and Looking For Pythagoras Check Up 2. Corrections and parent signature for the Pythagoras quiz are due Wednesday.

We are starting a new unit of study on integers and rational numbers. Today students explored some properties of positive and negative numbers in Problem 1.1. Students should make sure they have completed to the end of question C before class on Friday.

8th Grade
Students continue to explore and apply the Pythagorean Theorem in Problem 3.4. The following practice is assigned:

Students received their marked unit tests today and completed a test dissection. Students are bringing their tests home to be signed by a parent. SIGNED TESTS MUST BE RETURNED ON TUESDAY.

8th Grade

1.18 Maths

7th Grade
On Wednesday, students will take the unit test for the Comparing & Scaling unit. To prepare, students should complete question 2 on page 66 and review their notes and assessments from the unit.

8th Grade
The Pythagoras Check-Up 1 quiz was returned to students today. Students began to derive the pythagorean theorem by exploring the relationship between the areas of the squares formed on the legs of a right triangle to the square formed by the hypotenuse. No practice is assigned.
